Heels & Wheels - June 7, 2015
Bingemans
425 Bingemans Centre Drive,  Kitchener

Heels & Wheels is a 5K Run/Walk and a 1K Walk/roll which has been developed to promote brain injury awareness and raise funds for the programming of the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo-Wellington (BIAWW).

This new event will be the kick off of Brain Injury Awareness Month which is a national month in Canada which promotes public awareness of the causes, consequences, treatment and prevention of acquired brain injury. The major causes of brain injury in Canada are: Car Accidents (30%), Sports (20%), Biking (15%), Medical (10%), Violence (10%), Industrial (10%) and Diving (5%).

1 K Walk/Roll: Join survivors of acquired brain injury, their families and our valued community partners to roll or walk while enjoying the spring weather. NO bicycles, skateboards or long boards. Persons in wheelchairs or using walkers are encouraged to participate.

5 K Run/Walk: Join seasoned runners/walkers and also first timers for our 2nd Annual 5 K Run/Walk along the beautiful Walter Bean Trail at Bingemans in Kitchener ON. This fun trail will inspire you to beat your best time or to create a new time.


Schedule:

Volunteer Check In: 8:00 am
Participants Check In: 9:00 am
5 K Walk:  10:00 am
5 K Run:  10:45 am
1 K Walk/Roll: 11:30 am

Kids Fun Run: 12:00 pm
Closing: 12:15 pm

  • Top 3 Male/Female in 5 K Run/Walk
  • Top Fundraiser
  • Top Number of Pledges earned
  • Top 3 Finishers in Kids Fun Run for under 10
